RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Shaw High School Baseball Team recently finished as runner-up in

the 2005 Class AAA Georgia State Championship held at Golden Park;



WHEREAS, the Raiders lost to the Columbus High School Blue Devils in the

championship series by scores of 10-2 and 9-1;



WHEREAS, Shaw beat Carrollton in the state semi-finals to make it into the

championship series;



WHEREAS, this team's accomplishments are worthy of special recognition by this

Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate the Shaw High School Raiders baseball

players Norris Kyles, Brant Hamilton, Trey Manz, Justin Bray, Brandon Street,

John Paul Cooper, John Medley, Howie Shackleford, Cam Greathouse, Sam Gunn, Rad

Mitchell, Mikah Garcia, Kevin Matthews, Eric Switzer, Edgar Falcon, Chandler

Cronic, Landon Morsie, Travis Lush, Dallas Willis, Geoff Vandel, John Allen,

Brandon Day, Heath Peterson, Lamar Holland, Lance Lambert, Robert Smith and

Bruce Ryles, Head Coach Charles Flowers and Assistant Coaches Scott Newman and

Jamie Fox upon their runner-up finish in the Georgia Class AAA Championship

held at Golden Park. Columbus is justly proud of this team?s hard work and

dedication and we wish them every success in the future. Let a copy of this

Resolution be forwarded to the above-named participants.
