Information only - METRA's Traffic Report & Adopt-A-Stop Programs:
METRA is raising public awareness about transit through a new partnership with
Davis Broadcasting. METRA is broadcasting'METRA Traffic Reports' daily on all
Davis Broadcasting Stations, FOXIE 105, WOKS AND WKZJ. The reports air during
the 7am,8am and 4pm hours Monday thru Friday. METRA provides listeners with
information on road congestion, accidents and road construction projects. The
report allows METRA to provide another valuable service to Columbus citizens,
as well as an opportunity to promote METRA and the city of Columbus in a
positive light.
METRA?s Adopt-A-Stop Program has been established for volunteers, civic groups,
churches, individuals, and organizations to help maintain litter-free bus stops
and shelters. Adopt-A-Stop is simple. Adopters agree to pickup litter around
the designated bus stops and shelters for one year and you can even adopt more
than one stop. METRA provides adoption signs so that you and your group receive
proper recognition for your efforts. METRA also monitors the program to assure
that the adopted stops are being properly cleaned. With nearly 2,000 bus stops
and shelters in the Columbus area, your effort will be a great contribution.
