A RESOLUTION

NO.



WHEREAS, by Letter Order dated March 23, 2004, the Georgia Public Service

Commission approved the Columbus Consolidated Government as the first 311

non-emergency service center in the State of Georgia;



WHEREAS, the 311 center shall be provided for a one-year trial period and the

Consolidated Government shall provide a monthly call volume and complaint

report to the Commission;



WHEREAS, at the end of the one-year trial period, the Commission shall

reevaluate the status of the 311 non-emergency service center.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby authorize the City Manager to implement the 311 non-emergency

Citizens Service Center for a one-year trial period pursuant to the Letter

Order of the Georgia Public Service Commission dated March 23, 2004. Public

use of the 311 non-emergency Citizens Service Center shall be effective

immediately and the City Manager or his designee shall file monthly reports

pursuant to said Letter Order.
