Description Have the staff to provide some type of a time line that would be

necessary; so, we would be able to give Mr. Khan a definite window of when we

expect the repairs to be done. (Request of Councilor Henderson)

Re: 1649 Elvan Avenue, owned by Ali Kahn.



Council continued this for 2 weeks in order for Mr. Kahn to show ownership and

to provide a letter to show that he has the financial ability to do the work on

his building.



The documentation which Mr. Kahn has provided does comply with the request

Council has made for him to show ownership of the property and to provide a

bank letter to show that he has funding for the repairs that need to be done.



Rebecca talked with Mr. Kahn on October 24, and he has agreed that he can have

the work 100% completed by January 15, 2003. We would suggest that Council

approve or authorize the demolition of the property but delay implementing the

contract with Reaves until after January 15, 2003. We request that this be

done in order that we may be able to proceed with the demolition after January

15, 2003, should Mr. Kahn fail to fulfill his commitment on repairing the

property.
