VEHICLE FOR HIRE ORDINANCE:



Have the staff provide some assistance to the Taxicab Commission to speed

up the process regarding the upcoming proposed amendments to the Vehicle For

Hire Ordinance. (Request of Councilor Woodson)

STORM PIPE REPLACEMENT @ SHIRLEY WINSTON PARK:



Let?s make sure that we have the description and maker of the storm pipe

that failed at Shirley Winston Park to insure we avoid this particular pipe and

the provider. (Request of Councilor Allen)

TELEPHONE SYSTEM UPGRADE:



Meet with the members of Council in an early morning briefing before the

Council Meeting on next week to discuss the purchase of the telephone systems

upgrade from Bellsouth/BSFS. (Request of Mayor Poydasheff)



Have the staff present a copy of the research that went into this to

insure the citizens that this telephone systems upgrade is going to be adequate

well beyond the five-year pay-off time for the lease. (Request of Councilor

Henderson)

DOJ GRANT FOR TERRORISM:



Check into the process for submitting an application for the DOJ Grant For

Terrorism, because the deadline is May 23, 2003 for the application to be

received in Atlanta, Georgia. (Request of Councilor Woodson)

FENCING REQUIREMENTS:



Check into the ordinance regarding fencing requirements as it pertains to

the large dogs, because we need to make sure the fences have adequate height to

keep the large dogs confined to the owners? property. Let?s follow-up with the

Animal Control Advisory Board, because the board is in the process of amending

the ordinances. (Request of Councilor Woodson)

VETERANS PARKWAY @ WILLIAMS ROAD:



Provide an update on where we are with the left-turn signal on Veterans

Parkway and Williams Road. Also check into lengthening the turn signal into

Northside High School during the peak traffic times heading east. (Request of

Councilor Henderson)

GUARDRAILS:



Provide an update on the study of the cost for the guardrails and how we

would go about grading the different areas to find out where we would need to

place them. (Request of Councilor Henderson)

INTERSECTION OF MANCHESTER EXPRESSWAY & HAMILTON ROAD:



Have the staff make a request to the State to allow a longer period of

time for the left-turn green light signal at the intersection of Manchester

Expressway and Hamilton Road or create another left-turn lane. (Request of

Councilor McDaniel)
