A RESOLUTION
No.
WHEREAS, the Columbus USTA League Tennis Team, Senior Division (50 and over)
recently won the Georgia State Championship at the Cooper Creek Tennis Center;
WHEREAS, the team then advanced to the Southern Sectional Championship
held in Charleston, South Carolina, where they won the tournament defeating
teams from Tennessee, Mississippi, South Carolina and Alabama;
WHEREAS, Columbus then advanced to the National Finals which were held in Palm
Springs, California and beat New Jersey, but lost to Oklahoma and Minnesota in
tiebreakers;
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Columbus USTA League Tennis Team, Senior
Division, are worthy of special recognition by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate the following Columbus USTA League Tennis
Team, Senior Division members upon their recent victories in the Georgia State
Championship and the Southern Sectional Championship and upon their outstanding
performance in the National Finals held in Palm Springs, California: Henry
Banaszak, Kim Glass, David Gunter, Mark Levy, Ron Hale, Jay Pease, Steve Scheer
(Captain), Randy Scott and Tom Stewart. Let a copy of this resolution be
forwarded to the above-named participants.

6th day of December, 2005, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote
