(1) 1st Reading - Rezoning approximately 9.59 acres of property located on the

undeveloped portion of 7700 Veterans Parkway from an R-4 District to a C-3

District. (4-CA-03-GML Real Estate, LLC) (Mayor Pro-Tem Rodgers) (Both the

Planning Advisory Commission and the Planning Division recommend conditional

approval.)(Delayed from 4-15-03)



(2) 1st Reading - Rezoning property located at 1569-A Alta Vista Drive from an

R-1A District to an R-3A District. (6-D-03-Ashton Homes, LLC) (Councilor

Suber) (The Planning Advisory Commission recommends conditional approval and

the Planning Division recommends denial.)(Delayed from 4-15-03)



(3) 1st Reading ? Rezoning property located at 3614 Norris Road from an R-1A

district to an A-0 District (7-D-03-Cummings) (Councilor Suber) (The Planning

Advisory Commission recommends conditional approval and the Planning Division

recommends denial.)

NOTE: This new zoning application (3614 Norris Road) filed by David Cummings

was originally advertised for public hearing on April 29, 2003. The applicant

has advised the Planning Division that he is unable to attend today and

therefore, the public hearing, with the consent of the Columbus Council, shall

be continued until May 13, 2003 and a new advertisement has been made by the

Planning Division. If anyone is present to speak for or against this petition

today, they may be heard.



(4) 1st Reading ? Regulating vehicular traffic in Columbus, Georgia by

establishing/amending the parking restrictions along street segments of

Broadway, 1st Avenue and 9th Street. (Councilor McDaniel)



(5) 1st Reading - Amending Chapter 17B entitled ?Public Demonstrations? so as

to incorporate the state law definition of a funeral procession; to add a new

Article III that requires a permit application in order to obtain a permit from

the chief of police for picketing, public demonstrations or festivals involving

more than 15 persons on public right-of-way; to require liability insurance for

events having a projected attendance of 10,000 persons or more; and for other

purposes. (Councilor Hunter)

(6) Expressing appreciation to Brenda Price upon her retirement from the

Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau after 12 years of service. (Mayor
