A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO FILE AND APPLICATION WITH THE

CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE TO CONTINUE THE RETIRED AND

SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM (RSVP).



WHEREAS, under the authority of the National and Community Trust Act of 1993,

monies are available for the continuation of the Retired and Senior Volunteer

Program (RSVP):



WHEREAS, the total project cost is estimated to be $76,447 of which $30,267 is

the federal share and the local matching share is not to exceed $46,180 and,



WHEREAS, said amount for the local match has been requested in the FY'04 Budget

and will be available if the budget submitted is approved and may be amended as

requested; and,



WHEREAS, the period of the program application is from July 1, 2003 through

June 30, 2004,



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY

RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:



That the City Manager is hereby authorized to file an application and accept

funds from The Corporation for National and Community Service to continue The

Retired and Senior Volunteer Program for a total program cost estimated to be

$76,447, with the local matching share not to exceed $46,180; and



If said application is approved and the local matching share approved in the

FY04 budget, the City Manager may also enter into the contract for the program

accordingly and amend fund 216-270-4432.



Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held the
