A RESOLUTION

NO.



WHEREAS, the Columbus Football Club Red Star U-14 Girls soccer team

recently won the Kohl's Cup Tournament held in Atlanta for the second straight

year;

WHEREAS, in the finals, they defeated the Melbourne, Florida Fusion

team in overtime 3-2 to successfully retain their title;

WHEREAS, earlier in the tournament, Columbus defeated AUSA Freedom 5-1

and the S. Crescent Thunders Gold 3-0;

WHEREAS, the Red Star Girls only lost one game to TYSA Triumph White

during the championship tournament;

WHEREAS, this team represented Columbus well and deserves special

recognition from this Council.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:

We commend and congratulate the following members of the Columbus

Football Club Red Star U-14 Girls soccer team upon their recent victory in the

Kohl's Cup Tournament held in Atlanta for the second straight year: Purity

Evans, Dakota Hand, Hope Sims, Caitlyn Timberlake, Sarah Wieczorek, Gabrielle

Davis, Blair Prescott, Jackie Henson, Mary Bailey Wickham, Taylor Menefee,

Paige Janke, Evelyn Henson, Lucy Pound, Shelby Wieczorek, Ashley Jackson,

Ashley Muns and Ashley Luther, Manager Malon Wickham, and Coaches Mark Stewart

and Glenn Davis. We are truly proud of this team and we wish them every

success in the future.
