A RESOLUTION



No.





WHEREAS, the Shaw High School track team won the Class AAAA 400-meter relay and

finished second in the team standings at the Georgia High School track and

field finals on May 11, 2002;



WHEREAS, the Raiders finished with 42 points right behind Cedar Shoals who won

the team competition with 50 points;



WHEREAS, the Shaw relay team of Troy Bergeron, Louis Chambers, Marvin Menafee

and Brandon Williams won the 400-meter relay with a time of 42.09 seconds;



WHEREAS, Troy Bergeron and Brandon Williams also placed second and

fourth respectively in the 400-meter competition and Williams placed fourth in

the 100 and 200 meters;



WHEREAS, the accomplishments of this team are worthy of special recognition by

this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We commend and congratulate the Shaw High School Raiders track team of Troy

Bergeron, Louis Chambers, Marvin Menafee, Brandon Williams, Matthew Barnes,

Robin Bellamy, Brian Day, Patrick Dodson, Tedman Greaves, Christian Hill,

Reggie Hill, Christopher Jackson, Torrie Jackson, Jerome Jones, Raymond

Leonard, Mark Lewis, Eric Robinson, Curtis Shipman, Kerry Smith, Travis Smith,

Tim Thomas, and Curtis Woolfolk and Coach Edgar Johnson upon their second place

finish in the Georgia High School 2002 track and field championship. Columbus

is justly proud of this team?s hard work and dedication and we wish them every

success in the future.
