A RESOLUTION



NO.



WHEREAS, Columbus businesswoman Miriam Tidwell, owner of Miriam's Caf? and

Gallery, her husband Dr. Jack Tidwell, and Bill and Pam Cornelius, owners of

Express Automotive Service, recently sponsored a toy drive and a "God Bless

Fort Benning" celebration near the main gate of Fort Benning;



WHEREAS, the toys collected will be distributed to families of soldiers who are

serving away from home during the holidays;



WHEREAS, Fort Benning Santa's Castle program will coordinate the distribution

of the toys;



WHEREAS, the Tidwells and the Corneliuses graciously supported Fort Benning and

our troops during the weekend of November 16-17, 2002 and their efforts are

worthy of special recognition by this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and express our deep appreciation to Jack and Miriam Tidwell

and Bill and Pam Cornelius who sponsored the toy drive and the "God Bless Fort

Benning" celebration during the weekend of November 16-17, 2002. Let a copy

of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Miriam Tidwell and Mr. Bill

Cornelius.
