Council Members
WHEREAS, students from Kendrick High School recently participated in an Arbor
Day tree planting program at East Columbus Magnet Academy;
WHEREAS, these young men and women guided the activities of 90 East Columbus
students and the planting of 60 trees on the two-acre East Columbus campus on
February 21, 2003;
WHEREAS, Trees Columbus, Inc. organized the donation of the trees and
necessary supplies and material and Georgia Power Company donated mulch for the
project;
WHEREAS, the efforts of these students will help to improve the quality of life
for Columbus residents, enhance the beauty of the community, clean the air and
provide additional habitat for wildlife.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and express our appreciation to the following Kendrick High
School students and faculty for their participation in the Arbor Day activities
in Columbus: LeArtis Allen, Tiffany Coker, DeMarcus Dixon, Lavette Forte,
Terrence Lynch, Angel Rice, Terrell Savage, Patrick Williams, Mr. John Davis,
Teacher and Dr. Edward Barnwell, Principal. Let a copy of this resolution be
forwarded to Dr. Edward Barnwell, Principal of Kendrick High School, Trees
Columbus, Inc. and Georgia Power Company.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the
4th March, 2003, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of ten
members of said Council.
