THE GREATER COLUMBUS GOLF AUTHORITY

MINUTES OF MEETING

March 22, 2005

The Greater Columbus Golf Authority held the scheduled monthly meeting at Bull

Creek Golf Course. Members present were Chairman Donald Clack, Floyd

Washington, Nancy Wilkeson, Earl Bagley, Willie Hill, Rhudine Nelson, June

Holder, Michael Silverstein and Richard Hagler. Staff member present was John

Milam.

Minutes of the February 22, 2005 meeting were approved as presented. Motion

made by Mike Silverstein and seconded by June Holder.

Superintendent Report by John Milam

Pre-M herbicide has been sprayed in the fairways to rid the summer annuals.

Erosion along some of the cart paths has been repaired with sod and cemented

flagstone. The flagstones look very nice. Butterfingers will be asked to

re-train all drink cart personnel about proper etiquette when passing golfers

and restrict passing other golf carts in the wet areas. Dead tree removal is

taking place and maintenance will continue to clean up the wood line. Hydrojet

will be used on the greens.

Report of John Milam, Director of Golf

Godwin Creek

Godwin Creek is in the process of electing a new Executive Board for the First

Tee of Columbus. An arrangement has been worked out that Godwin Creek can

order their own fertilizer directly and receive the reduced rate. First Tee

Program is still awaiting money from fundraising efforts.

Oxbow Creek

Oxbow Creek has not received the $150,000 from the City of Columbus therefore

their revenues look much lower compared to February ?04. No one else has taken

advantage of the yearly membership rate. Congressman, Sanford Bishop, is

looking at the landfill to add the last nine holes.

Bull Creek

Bull Creek?s year to date expenses show a deficit of $54,745. Of that figure,

$24,000 is for debt services and $16,000 for cost allocation leaving

approximately $14,000 in actual debt.

New Business

Mr. John Milam brought up the use of cart fees and tee time for the volunteers

on weekends. Currently, volunteers pay the rental fee associated with the cart

if teeing-off before noon (Saturday only). Lately, there have been no carts

available for the volunteers with tee-times after twelve. Mr. Milam did not

think it was feasible to lease additional carts for the few weekend months that

this problem can arise, therefore the volunteers will step aside to allow

paying customers the use of the carts first.

A motion was made at 4:25 p.m. to adjourn by Willie Hill and seconded by

Rhudine Nelson.

Respectfully submitted,

Nancy Wilkeson, Secretary
