A Resolution requesting that the local legislative delegation to the Georgia

General Assembly introduce a bill amending 1993 Ga. Laws, p. 4849, so as to add

the Muscogee County Probate Court Judge to the list of local elected officials

with salaries which may be supplemented by the Columbus Council.

WHEREAS, salaries of various judges of the Consolidated Government have

recently been discussed by this Council and with members of the local

legislative delegation to the Georgia General Assembly;



WHEREAS, the salaries of Muscogee County Superior Court Judges and State Court

Judges may be supplemented by the Columbus Council pursuant to 1993 Ga. Laws,

p. 4849 and 1997 Ga. Laws, p. 3906;



WHEREAS, this Council deems it appropriate that the Muscogee County Probate

Court Judge be added to the list of local elected officials with salaries which

may be supplemented by the Columbus Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby respectfully request that the local legislative delegation to the

Georgia General Assembly introduce a bill which would amend 1993 Ga. Laws, p.

4849, so as to add the Muscogee County Probate Court Judge to the list of local

elected officials with salaries which may be supplemented by the Columbus

Council. Let a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to each member of the

local legislative delegation to the Georgia General Assembly.
