A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO TRANSFER PROPERTY DESCRIBED AS

EXHIBIT A, B, C, D, AND E, ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, AND FURTHER

IDENTIFIED AS PARCELS 2, 3A, 4 AND 5 ON THE ATTACHED MAP, CONSISTING OF 8.64

ACRES +/-.

WHEREAS, on December 15, 1970, property was transferred to the State of Georgia

for a State Prison Facility; and,

WHEREAS, over the years the prison facility has expanded and encroached upon

property belonging to the Consolidated Government of Columbus; and,

WHEREAS, the Georgia Department of Corrections have requested additional

adjacent properties; and,

WHEREAS, it has been determined to be in the best interest of the Consolidated

Government of Columbus Georgia to transfer these properties.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That the City Manager is hereby authorized to transfer properties described on

Exhibit A, B, C, D, and E, attached hereto and made a part hereof, and further

identified as Parcels 2, 3A, 4 and 5 on the attached map, consisting of 8.64

acres +/- to the State of Georgia, Department of Corrections, with the

following conditions:

1. The State of Georgia, Department of Corrections will comply with the Buffer

Ordinance along the south line of Parcel IV; and ,

2. The property will be utilized solely for a regional office and a staff

training facility; and,

3. The Department of Corrections will maintain the firing range located on

parcel identified as Parcel 3B and provide a 20' Access Easement as described

on Exhibit F, attached hereto and made a part hereof.



Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held

the _______day of _____________, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative

vote of __________members of said Council.
