A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL AND IF APPROVED THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
GRANT FROM THE SALTON ANTITRUST SETTLEMENT FUND DISTRIBUTED THROUGH THE
ATTORNEY GENERAL?S OFFICE OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, FOR $50,000 AND AMEND THE
MULTI-GOVERNMENTAL FUND BY LIKE AMOUNT.
WHEREAS, funds have been made available from the Salton Antitrust
Settlement Fund distributed through the Attorney General?s Office of the State
of Georgia, for the purpose of providing services to the Columbus/Muscogee
County Juvenile Drug Court; and,
WHEREAS, Columbus is eligible for $50,000 in order to provide services for
youth participating in the Columbus/Muscogee County Juvenile Drug Court; and,
WHEREAS, the Juvenile Drug Court operates on a team concept, but also, as a
community collaborative effort to address the needs of the youth abusing drugs;
and,
WHEREAS, the Salton Antitrust Settlement Fund does not require a cash match.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to submit
and if approved accept a grant from the Salton Antitrust Settlement Fund
distributed through the Attorney General?s Office of the State of Georgia for
$50,000 for the purpose of providing services for the Columbus/Muscogee County
Juvenile Drug Court and amend the Multi-Governmental Fund by a like amount.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia,
held the ____ day of _________ 2005 and adopted at said meeting by the
affirmative vote of ____ members of said Council.
