WHEREAS, the Columbus High School Cheerleaders recently finished second in the

Georgia State Cheerleading Championship;



WHEREAS, the Blue Devils finished second with 253 points behind Carrollton (256

points) in the Class AAA competition;



WHEREAS, the CHS squad finished fifth in the 2004 competition;



WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Columbus High School Cheerleaders are

worthy of special recognition by this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate the following members of the Columbus High

School Cheerleaders upon their second-place finish in the Georgia State

Cheerleading Championship: Carley Alford, Anna Bray, Symantha Cook, Heather

Corbin, Kiera Gallagher, Kelsey Gaston, Lacey Grimsley, Sarah Hackaday, Hillary

Hall, Chelsea Harris, Nydia Hernandez, Cortney Laughlin, Elise Parker, Katie

Powell, Meredith Parker, Christy Saucier, Anna Thompson, Head Coach Merrimoore

McDonald and Assistant Susan Austin. Let a copy of this resolution be

forwarded to the above-named participants.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the

8th day of March, 2005, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of

ten members of said Council.
