A RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Columbus Councilor C. E. "Red" McDaniel and Muscogee County Probate

Judge Julia W. Lumpkin recently received the Distinguished Athlete Award at the

Celebration of Sports Excellence Awards ceremony;



WHEREAS, the award ceremony held at the Columbus Civic Center on June 16, 2003

recognized the 2002-2003 selections to the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer's

All-Bi-City teams in eleven sports;



WHEREAS, Councilor McDaniel, former All-Bi-City football recipient and Judge

Julia Lumpkin, former All-Bi-City Tennis recipient were among those honored at

the ceremony;



WHEREAS, this Council desires that Councilor McDaniel and Judge Lumpkin be

recognized for their athletic accomplishments and hopes that this resolution

will serve as a reminder of their outstanding play in past years.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate Councilor C. E. "Red" McDaniel and Muscogee

County Probate Judge Julia W. Lumpkin upon their receipt of the Distinguished

Athlete Award at the Celebration of Sports Excellence Awards ceremony. Let a

copy of this resolution be forwarded to Councilor McDaniel and Judge Lumpkin.
