SUBJECT: Manufactured Homes and Mobile Homes

In response to a question listed on the referral sheet from the Clerk

of Council, please find attached the definitions of "manufactured home" and

"mobile home" contained in OCGA Section 8-2-131. The definitions are similar,

except a manufactured home also includes smaller structures when the

manufacturer files a certification required by the Secretary of Housing and

Urban Development and complies with standards established under the National

Manufactured Housing Construction and Safety Standards Act of 1974. "Mobile

homes" are also structures manufactured prior to June 15, 1976 under this state

law.
