MINUTES # 04-04



The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Wednesday, January 28, 2004,

at 2:00PM with Chairman Lawton Grantham, Assessors Richard Stallings, Ann

Grantham, William Braxton and Pat Hunter present. Also present was Chief

Appraiser Martin J. Land.



Assessor Richard Stallings made a motion to approve Minutes #03-04, Assessor

Ann Grantham second the motion, motion carried unanimously.



The Board reviewed the information furnished by Mr. Tillery (Account #

05918201) concerning his exemption under Georgia Code 50-17-29 and approved the

exemption for the year 2003.



As requested Chief Appraiser Martin Land advised the Board the Personal

Property Division discovered a business was located at the location where

Carden?s Outdoors Inc.(Account # 06082901) was located. That business was

assessed for the years 2002 and 2003. The Board removed the assessment for

Carden?s Outdoors Inc.for the years 2002 and 2003.



Met with Residential Division Chief Bob O?Brien, reviewed and approved the

Met with Commercial Division Chief Linda King, reviewed and approved the

following:

2003 Map Split: 1



The Board denied a request for non-taxability for Parcel ID 189 017 012 based

on a field review conducted by the Commercial Division.



Met with Personal Property Division Chief Oliver Juhan, reviewed and approved

the following:

Pers Prop Div Chief Juhan presented a letter from First American Holding, LLC,

which was reviewed by the Board. The Board took no action.
