AN ORDINANCE REGULATING VEHICULAR TRAFFIC IN COLUMBUS, GEORGIA BY
ESTABLISHING/AMENDING THE PARKING RESTRICTIONS ALONG THE FOLLOWING STREET
SEGMENTS:
BROADWAY - ESTABLISHING A TWO (2) HOUR PARKING TIME LIMIT, 8:00 AM TO 6:00 PM
WEEKDAYS, ALONG THE WEST CURB OF BROADWAY BEGINNING AT A POINT 35 FEET NORTH OF
THE NORTH CURB OF 9TH STREET AND RUNNING NORTH A DISTANCE OF 105 FEET;
ESTABLISHING A TWO (2) HOUR PARKING TIME LIMIT, 8:00 AM TO 6:00 PM WEEKDAYS,
ALONG THE WEST CURB OF BROADWAY BEGINNING AT A POINT 472 FEET NORTH OF THE
NORTH CURB OF 9TH STREET AND RUNNING NORTH A DISTANCE OF 128 FEET; ESTABLISHING
A NO PARKING ANYTIME ZONE ALONG THE WEST CURB OF BROADWAY BEGINNING AT A POINT
140 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH CURB OF 9TH STREET AND RUNNING NORTH A DISTANCE OF
332 FEET; ESTABLISHING A NO PARKING ANYTIME ALONG THE EAST AND WEST CURBS OF
THE CENTER MEDIAN OF BROADWAY FROM THE NORTH CURB OF 9TH STREET NORTH TO THE
SOUTH CURB OF 10TH STREET; ESTABLISHING A PASSENGER LOADING ZONE WITH A 15
MINUTE TIME LIMIT ALONG THE EAST CURB BEGINNING AT A POINT 235 NORTH OF THE
NORTH CURB OF 9TH STREET AND RUNNING NORTH A DISTANCE OF 160 FEET: AMENDING
CITY CODE SECTION 20-14.16 AREAS DESIGNATED FOR HANDICAP PARKING BY ADDING
BROADWAY: BEGINNING AT A POINT 24 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH CURB OF 9TH STREET
AND RUNNING NORTH ALONG THE EAST CURB A DISTANCE OF 116 FEET, FOUR (4) HOUR
TIME LIMIT; BEGINNING AT A POINT 462 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH CURB OF 9TH STREET
AND RUNNING NORTH ALONG THE EAST CURB A DISTANCE OF 88 FEET, FOUR (4) HOUR TIME
LIMIT;
1ST AVENUE - ESTABLISHING A NO PARKING ANYTIME ZONE ALONG THE EAST AND WEST
CURBS OF THE CENTER MEDIAN OF 1ST AVENUE FROM THE NORTH CURB OF 9TH STREET
NORTH TO THE SOUTH CURB OF 10TH STREET; ESTABLISHING A NO PARKING ANYTIME ZONE
ALONG THE EAST CURB OF 1ST AVENUE FROM THE NORTH CURB OF 9TH STREET NORTH TO
THE SOUTH CURB OF 10TH STREET; ESTABLISHING A TW0 (2) HOUR PARKING TIME LIMIT,
8:00 AM TO 6:00 PM WEEKDAYS, ALONG THE WEST CURB OF 1ST AVENUE BEGINNING AT A
POINT 35 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH CURB OF 9TH STREET AND RUNNING NORTH A
DISTANCE OF 200 FEET; ESTABLISHING A RIVER CENTER SERVICE VEHICLE/BUS LOADING
ZONE WITH A TWELVE (12) HOUR TIME LIMIT ALONG THE WEST CURB OF 1ST AVENUE
BEGINNING AT A POINT 300 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH CURB OF 9TH STREET AND RUNNING
NORTH A DISTANCE OF 295 FEET;
9TH STREET - ESTABLISHING A MEDIA PARKING ZONE WITH A FOUR (4) HOUR TIME LIMIT
ALONG THE SOUTH CURB OF 9TH STREET BEGINNING AT POINT 30 FEET EAST OF THE EAST
CURB OF 1ST AVENUE AND RUNNING EAST A DISTANCE OF 65 FEET;
AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF OFFICIAL TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNS INDICATING SAID
PARKING RESTRICTIONS; REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I.
That a two (2) hour parking time limit, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM weekdays, is
hereby established along the following street segment:
Boadway ? beginning at a point 35 feet north of the north curb of 9th Street
and running north along the west curb of Broadway a distance of 105 feet.
Boadway ? beginning at a point 472 feet north of the north curb of 9th Street
and running north along the west curb of Broadway a distance of 128 feet.
SECTION II.
That it shall be unlawful for any person to park or rank a vehicle
along the following described street segment:
Broadway ? beginning at a point 140 feet north of the north curb of 9th Street
and running north along the west curb of Broadway a distance of 332 feet.
Broadway - beginning at the north curb of 9th Street and running north along
the east and west curb of the center median to the south curb of 10th Street.
SECTION III.
That a Passenger Loading Zone with a 15 minute time limit is hereby
established for the following street segment:
Broadway - beginning at a point 235 feet north of the north curb of 9th Street
and running north along the east curb of Broadway a distance of 160 feet.
SECTION IV.
That City Code Section 20-14.16 Areas Designated for Handicap Parking
is hereby amended by adding the handicap parking with a four (4) hour time
limit along the following street segment:
Broadway - beginning at a point 24 feet north of the north curb and running
north along the east curb of Broadway a distance of 116 feet.
Broadway - beginning at a point 462 feet north of the north curb and running
north along the east curb of Broadway a distance of 88 feet.
SECTION V.
That it shall be unlawful for any person to park or rank a vehicle
along the following described street segment:
1st Avenue ? along the east and west curb of the center median beginning at the
north curb of 9th Street and running north to the south curb of 10th Street.
1st Avenue ? along the east curb beginning at the north curb of 9th Street and
running north to the south curb of 10th Street.
SECTION VI.
That a two (2) hour parking time limit, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM weekdays, is
hereby established along the following street segment:
1st Avenue ? beginning at a point 35 feet north of the north curb of 9th Street
and running north along the west curb of 1st Avenue a distance of 200 feet.
SECTION VII.
That a River Center Service Vehicle/Bus Loading Zone with a twelve (12)
hour time limit is hereby established along the following street segment:
1st Avenue ? beginning at a point 300 feet north of the north curb of 9th
Street and running north along the west curb of 1st Avenue a distance of 295
feet.
SECTION VIII.
That a Media Parking Zone is hereby established with a four (4) hour
time limit along the following street segment:
9th Street ? beginning at a point 35 feet east of the east curb of 1st Avenue
and running east a distance of 65 feet.
SECTION IX.
That official traffic control signs shall be installed indicating the
parking restrictions described herein Sections I thru VIII.
SECTION X.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this
ordinance are hereby repealed.
