A RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Mr. Edward DuBose was recently promoted from Second Vice-President to

President of the Georgia NAACP at the 63rd annual Georgia NAACP Convention;



WHEREAS, he was President of the Columbus NAACP chapter for seven years

until he resigned in January, 2005 to accept the state position;



WHEREAS, he has also been involved with efforts to renew the federal Voting

Rights Act and the opposition to the Georgia Voter ID bill;



WHEREAS, Mr. DuBose?s accomplishments are worthy of special recognition by this

Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We commend and congratulate Mr. Edward DuBose upon his recent promotion to

President of the Georgia NAACP at the 63rd annual Georgia NAACP Convention and

we wish him every success in the future. Let a copy of this resolution be

forwarded to Mr. Edward DuBose.
