A RESOLUTION
NO.
WHEREAS, The Gracious Ladies of Georgia are celebrating their 27th Anniversary
in the Columbus community;
WHEREAS, The Gracious Ladies of Georgia is an organization that was founded in
1977 to recognize women who have contributed to the advancement of their
respective communities and improved the quality of life in Georgia;
WHEREAS, this organization considers Columbus, Georgia as its home but reaches
out to communities all across the state to recognize the special efforts of
women in the business and civic affairs of their localities;
WHEREAS, this organization encourages women to be more fully involved in public
affairs by honoring those very special women who have strengthened their
communities through their generosity, caring, deep compassion, and good will;
WHEREAS, it is most appropriate that The Gracious Ladies of Georgia be properly
recognized for their efforts in honoring the extraordinary contributions that
have been made by many noble and merciful women to improve the quality of life
in Georgia.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
The Gracious Ladies of Georgia honored upon the organization's 27h Anniversary
from Columbus are: Mrs. James (Jean) Cantrell, Mrs. Benjamin (Roeaster) Coles,
Mrs. Charles (Geri) Davis, Mrs. Walter (Betty) Jones, Mrs. William (Jackie)
Keller, Lt. Renee McAneny, Mrs. James (Bunny) Sullivan, Mrs. Albret (Ozella)
Thompson, Mrs. Marvin (Lula) Smith and Mrs. Willie Hudson Wheeler. We express
our deep appreciation to them for their support of the National Infantry Museum
at Fort Benning and their service to the Columbus community and the State of
Georgia. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the above-named
Gracious Ladies of Georgia.

WHEREAS, The Gracious Ladies of Georgia is an organization that was founded in

WHEREAS, Mrs. Ellen Conger has served as one of the leaders of this group of
outstanding citizens in our community and she has recently been honored by The
Gracious Ladies of Georgia as the recipient of the Emily Woodruff Tribute to
Service Award;
WHEREAS, her achievement is worthy of special recognition by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We commend and congratulate Mrs. Ellen Conger upon her receipt of the Emily
Woodruff Tribute to Service Award at the 27h Anniversary celebration of The
Gracious Ladies of Georgia. We express our deep appreciation to her for her
service to the Columbus community and the State of Georgia. Let a copy of this
resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Ellen Conger.
