Memorandum

TO: Mayor Poydasheff

FROM: Tiny B. Washington, CMC

Clerk of Council

SUB: Downtown Development Authority

=====================================================

On August 12, 2003, I sent a memorandum to you (copy attached) advising

that the term of office of Mr. James Buntin and Mr. Frank Etheridge on the

Downtown Development Authority would expire on August 15, 2003 and they were

not eligible to succeed themselves.

It was listed under the board appointments on August 19, 2003; however, on

September 2, 2003, Mr. Buntin?s position was inadvertently left off of the

Agenda. We just recently discovered that the Council never did appoint anyone

to succeed him.

Mr. Buntin is continuing to serve on this board and will do so until the

Council appoints his successor.

I have spoken with Mr. Ed Sprouse, Secretary to this Board and advised him

of this matter; and he is going to possibly have a nominee for consideration

for this seat.

We will have this listed on next week?s Agenda under the board appointments

for you to make nominations for someone to succeed him.

I apologize for this oversight. Please advise if there are any questions.
