WHEREAS, pursuant to federal law, Columbus has completed the Columbus-Muscogee

County Multi-jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan;



WHEREAS, the Plan meets the programmatic requirements of the Federal

Emergency Management Agency?s (FEMA) local mitigation planning criteria, as

stipulated under 44 Code of Regulations (CFR) Section 201.6 published in the

Federal Register on February 26, 2002;



WHEREAS, this Council must adopt the Plan by resolution and forward the same to

the Georgia Office of Homeland Security so that the Plan may be submitted to

FEMA for formal review and approval.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby adopt the Columbus-Muscogee County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard

Mitigation Plan and authorize the Chief of the Columbus Department of Emergency

Medical Services to forward the Plan and this Resolution to the Georgia Office

of Homeland Security.
