RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION

FOR SERVICE OF DR. JAMES E. BUNTIN





WHEREAS, Dr. James E. Buntin has served as a member of the Development

Authority of Columbus, Georgia, since August 26, 1986, and has served as

Chairman of the Development Authority since February 21, 1989;



WHEREAS, during his tenure on the Development Authority, Dr. Buntin has

provided invaluable leadership and guidance to the Development Authority, to

the Valley Partnership Joint Development Authority and to economic development

efforts in the Columbus region;



WHEREAS, Dr. Buntin's tireless support of and service to the Development

Authority in a straight-forward, even-handed and open manner, has brought

credit to the Development Authority and has earned him the respect of all of

those with whom he has dealt;



WHEREAS, through Dr. Buntin's service to the Development Authority and his

ability "to keep the main thing the main thing," the Columbus region is a

better place in which to live and work, with the projects that have located in

the region being primarily important to Dr. Buntin because of the jobs created

and the families strengthened as a result of such employment.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby extend our appreciation and gratitude to Dr. James E. Buntin for his

leadership and service to the Development Authority and to Columbus, Georgia,

and for setting an exemplary standard of community service and servant

leadership. Let a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to Dr. James E. Buntin

and made a part of the official minutes of this meeting of the Council of

Columbus, Georgia.
