that was made on last week, and said if it doesn?t make the building code or

health department code, let?s put a big sign on the right of way, telling who

owns this property. (Request of Councilor Smith)

Response Currently, our legal remedy for substandard housing is the Standard

Housing Code which is part of the City of Columbus Code of Ordinances, which

allows for a Recorder's Court hearing for those owners/agents who do not comply

by making the necessary repairs to their properties.

We will confer with the City attorney concerning Council's Smith's request to

erect a sign on public right of way, as it is not currently legal to do so.
