SUBJECT: Declare Property as Surplus (46 Apollo Drive a/k/a Tax Map 089

007 002)



INITIATED BY: City Manager's Office







Recommendation: Approval is requested to declare 46 Apollo Drive a/k/a

Tax Map # 089 007 002 as surplus, to advertise and sell said property, in

accordance with Section 7-501 of the City Code in Columbus, Muscogee County,

Georgia, (see attached map).



Background: The Columbus Consolidated Government acquired the subject

property to develop a swimming pool. The pool has since been filled. Full

disclosure will be made on all properties prior to sale.



Analysis: Prior to acquisition or control, by the City, the property had been

used for residential purposes. Subject property presently follow current area

zoning guidelines. It has been determined through coordination with other

departments, that the City no longer needs subject property in the foreseeable

future.



Financial Considerations: Subject property will be advertised at appraised

value. The property and any related improvements would be returned to the tax

digest roles.



Legal Considerations: Subject property will be sold in accordance with Section

7-501 of the City Code. The property will be sold retaining easements for

combination utilities, storm and sanitation pipes.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approval is requested of the attached resolution to

declare the property identified on the attached tax map as surplus and to

advertise and sell said property in accordance with Section 7-501 of the City

Code.
