WHEREAS, Terakka Walker, a sixth grade student at Midland Middle School, has

been nominated to represent the United States on a soccer team in 2002 by

People to People Sports Ambassadors;



WHEREAS, People to People Sports Ambassador programs sponsor overseas athletic

tournaments for the promotion of world peace and improved cultural relations;



WHEREAS, as a program participant, Terakka will become a member of a tournament

team, have the opportunity to play overseas and will be part of a delegation

including U.S. athletes, coaches and chaperones;



WHEREAS, previous People to People Sports Ambassadors tournaments have

included Holland's Haarlem Cup and Australia's Kanga Cup.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate Midland Middle School student Terakka Walker

upon her nomination to represent the United States on a soccer team in 2002 by

People to People Sports Ambassadors. We are proud of Terakka for her

achievements both on and off the soccer field and we wish her every success in

the future. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Terakka

Walker.
