(A) ANNUAL MAINTENANCE SUPPORT AGREEMENT FOR THE DECISION ANALYZER SOFTWARE



It is requested that Council authorize the payment to Decision Technology, in

the amount of $10,258.00 for the annual maintenance support agreement for the

Decision Analyzer Software. The vendor will provide maintenance support for

the Decision Analyzer Software utilized by Information Technology. The

maintenance support period will be for one year, from September 15, 2002

through September 14, 2003.



The maintenance support can only be provided by the developer of the software,

Decision Analyzer. The software is a program that allows the extraction of

specified data from mainframe, midrange and LAN applications. This software

enables end-users to quickly identify and extract needed data from host

applications in a variety of PC formats, allowing the user to create fully

functional spreadsheets, graphs, charts and other reports. This maintenance

provides Information Technology, with software enhancements, documentations

updates, Users Group support and Hotline support.



Funds are budgeted in FY03 Budget, Information Technology, Information Systems

& Services Director ? Software Lease; 0101-210-1000-ISS-6541.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE AN ANNUAL MAINTENANCE

SUPPORT AGREEMENT FOR THE DECISION ANALYZER SOFTWARE FROM DECISION TECHNOLOGY

IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,258.00.



WHEREAS, the software program allows the extraction of specified data files

from mainframe, midrange and LAN applications. The software enables end-users

to quickly identify and extract needed data from host applications in a variety

of PC formats, and,



WHEREAS, the maintenance support can only be provided by the developer of the

software, Decision Technology, and;



WHEREAS, the maintenance provides Information Technology, with software

enhancements, documentation updates, User Group support and hotline support.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:



That the City Manager is hereby authorized to purchase an annual

maintenance support agreement from Decision Technology for the Decision

Analyzer Software in the amount of $10,258.00. Funds are budgeted in the FY03

Budget, Information Technology, Information Systems & Services Director ?

Software Lease; 0101-210-1000-ISS-6541.
