MINUTES # 01-02



The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Wednesday, January 9, 2002 ,

at 2:00PM with Chairman Beatrice Breaux, Assessors Lawton Grantham, Richard

Stallings and Ann Grantham present. Also present was Chief Appraiser Martin J.

Land. Assessor John Kendrick was absent . He is currently in the hospital

recovering from surgery.



The first order of business on the first meeting of each year is for the Board

of Tax Assessors to appoint a Chairman and a Secretary for the upcoming year.

Assessor Lawton Grantham nominated Assessor Beatrice Breaux to be the Chairman,

seconded by Assessor Richard Stallings. The motion carried and the vote was

unanimous by those Board members that were present. Assessor Lawton Grantham

nominated Chief Appraiser Martin Land to be the Secretary, seconded by Assessor

Richard Stallings. The motion carried and the vote was unanimous by those Board

members that were present.
