SUB: Cooperative Extension Advisory Board



The term of office of Mrs. Joan Cheves on the Cooperative Extension

Advisory Board will expire on December 31, 2005. She is eligible to succeed

herself for one additional term of office. She was first put on the board in

2000 and this is the end of her first full term of office.

Including Mrs. Cheves, there are currently three (3) Senatorial District

29 representatives and two (2) Senatorial District 15 representatives. There

are currently two (2) women serving on this board.



Enclosed is a copy of our data sheet, as well as a list of the current

members.

Charge/Mission: Section 4-613 of the original charter of the Consolidated

Government provided that this board shall serve in an advisory capacity to the

Department of Cooperative Extension Service and the University of Georgia

Extension Service for the consideration of policies of the department and

community. Even though this original charter section was repealed in 1980, the

board continues to function. It has five members which are appointed by the
