WHEREAS, Columbus businesswoman Eve Tidwell and her husband, Dr. Jack Tidwell,

recently sponsored the third "God Bless Fort Benning" rally in Columbus;



WHEREAS, on Saturday, November 19, 2005, thousand of soldiers from Fort

Benning, visitors and guests were treated to performances by Tracy Lawrence,

Hank Eichner, Perry Danos Band and Motown Sound at the Columbus Civic Center;



WHEREAS, other events included a children's area, student stage, hug-a-hero, a

wedding, display of tanks, Bradleys, Huey helicopters and a parade with

hundreds of motorcycles;



WHEREAS, the Tidwells, event coordinator Jan Pease and the numerous sponsors

listed below deserve special recognition for their support of our troops at

Fort Benning and around the world during this annual event.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
