BUILDING CONTRACTORS EXAMINING BOARD



REGULAR MEETING - 11:00 A. M. - JULY 4, 2002





The regular monthly meeting of the Building Contractors' Examining

Board was held Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at 4:00 P. M., in the office of the

Building Official. The regular time for the meeting would have been Thursday,

July 4, 2002, but since this is a Holiday, the meeting was held on Tuesday.

Members present were:



Mr. Johnnie Cargill Mr. William L. Duck, Jr.

Mr. Tommy Hinton Ms. Stella Shulman

Mr. Allen Wright



Seven (7) applications were considered by the Board. Certificates of

Qualification were issued to the following applicants:



Rex H. Kingrey (Residential Certificate)

Ashton Homes, LLC Fortson, GA

Minn AKen@ Chung (Commercial Certificate)

Ken Chung Columbus, GA

James Roger Pamplin (Commercial Certificate)

Pamplin=s Remodeling & Renovation Svc Columbus, GA



Mrs. Shulman made a motion, which was seconded by Mr. Hinson, to issue

Certificates of Qualification to these applicants on the basis of their grades

on the examination, their letters of recommendation, and their qualifications,

as revealed by their resumes, which showed the times and places of their work

experience. (Examination was administered by SBCCI, Southern Building Code

Congress, International, on Saturday, June 29, 2002.) Motion carried

unanimously.



None of the other four (4) who applied passed the examination. Mr.

Hinson made a motion, which was seconded by Mr. Duck, not to issue Certificates

of Qualification to these five applicants until they pass the examination.

Motion carried unanimously.



The Minutes of the Monthly Meeting, which was held on June

6, 2002, were approved as presented.



There being no further business to come before the Board, the

meeting adjourned at 11:21 A. M.
