MINUTES # 32-05



The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Wednesday, August 10, 2005,

at 2:00PM with Chairman Lawton Grantham, Assessors Richard Stallings, Ann

Grantham, William Braxton and Pat Hunter present. Also present was Chief

Appraiser Martin J. Land.



Assessor Ann Grantham made a motion to approve Minutes # 31-05, Assessor

Richard Stallings seconded the motion, motion carried unanimously.



The Board of Tax Assessors approved assessment corrections.



The following VA letter of application for VA exemption was approved:



Cannella - 121 006 027



Met with Mr. Gray representing the Executive Committee of the Baptist

Convention of the State of Ga. regarding a request for non-taxability for

property located at 3930 University Ave (Parcel ID 069 023 039). Mr. Gray said

they moved into the new building on November 18, 2004 and it has been used for

religious purposes since that time. Assessor Ann Grantham made the motion to

approve tax exempt status for parcel ID 069 023 039 for 2005. Assessor Pat

Hunter seconded the motion, motion carried unanimously.



Met with Residential Division Chief Bob O?Brien, reviewed and approved the

following:

The Board reviewed a letter of appeal for parcel ID 108 001 060, which was not

received timely. The taxpayers stated in their letter they had problems with

the USPS handling of their mail. The Board ruled the letter of appeal was late.



Met with Commercial Division Chief Linda King, reviewed and approved the

following:

Met with Personal Property Division Chief Oliver Juhan, reviewed and approved

the following:
