WHEREAS, Daniel P. Amos, AFLAC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, has been

named the Best CEO in the Insurance/Life Category by Institutional Investor

magazine;



WHEREAS, Mr. Amos began working in sales for AFLAC in 1973 and was named

President in 1983 and Chief Operating Officer in 1987;



WHEREAS, in 1990 he was named Chief Executive Officer and has been Chairman

since 2001;



WHEREAS, Mr. Amos is responsible for the broadening of AFLAC's U.S. and Japan

product lines and is responsible for launching the company's national

advertising program, which features the popular AFLAC duck;



WHEREAS, during his tenure, AFLAC's market capitalization has grown from $1.3

billion to over $19 billion;



WHEREAS, his selection as best CEO by Institutional Investor magazine is worthy

of special recognition by this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Daniel P. Amos, AFLAC Chairman and Chief

Executive Officer, upon his selection by Institutional Investor magazine as the

Best CEO in the Insurance/Life Category. Let a copy of this Resolution be

forwarded to Mr. Daniel P. Amos.

9th day of March, 2004, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
