A RESOLUTION

NO.





WHEREAS, Pacelli High School football coach Kevin Pettis will be leaving

Columbus to take the head coaching position at Dr. Phillips High School in

Orlando, Florida;



WHEREAS, Coach Pettis has led the Vikings to back-to-back 10-0 regular seasons

and Region 2-A championships;



WHEREAS, in the last two years, the Vikings have posted a record of 22-2,

making the second round of the state playoffs each year;



WHEREAS, in the two years before Coach Pettis arrived, Pacelli had a combined

record of 3-17;



WHEREAS, Coach Pettis was selected by Dr. Phillips High School out of more than

150 applicants for the position there;



WHEREAS, Coach Pettis' accomplishments are worthy of special recognition by

this Council;



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend Pacelli High School football coach Kevin Pettis upon his

outstanding success with the Pacelli Vikings and we wish well as he assumes his

new duties as head coach at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Florida. Let

a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Coach Kevin Pettis.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the

18th day of January, 2005, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote

of members of Council.
