Council Members
WHEREAS, Lt. Paula Carter of the Columbus Fire and Emergency Medical Services
Department has recently been named the 2004 Region Seven EMT of the Year;
WHEREAS, Lt. Carter began her career in EMS in the late 1980's and rapidly
progressed from EMT to Paramedic;
WHEREAS, she obtained a bachelor's degree, teaching credentials in numerous EMS
specialty areas and has attended many EMS conferences across the state of
Georgia;
WHEREAS, she is always willing to share her time, knowledge and skills in the
EMS field with others so that they can be better prepared to serve their
communities;
WHEREAS, this honor is worthy of special recognition by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate Lt. Paula Carter of the Columbus Fire and
Emergency Medical Services Department upon her receipt of the 2004 Region Seven
Emergency Medical Technician of the Year Award. Her dedication and service to
her community is deeply appreciated by this Council and all Columbus citizens.
Let a copy of the Resolution be forwarded to Lt. Paula Carter.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the
16th day of March, 2004, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote
of ten members of said Council.
