Aircraft, owner), 718 6th Avenue (Church of God, owner), 3637 ? Buena Vista
Road (Johnny E. Davis, owner), 1214 Baker Circle (Wilson T. Harrison, owner),
2415 ? Schaul Street (C. A. Hopkins, owner), 401 Brennan Road, Lt. 33 (King
Gerald Leonard, owner), 925 Benning Drive (Marie v. Petit, Estate), 2605 Walker

owner); and for demolition services for the Inspections and Code Division in
accordance with the attached Tabulation of Bid sheet.

WHEREAS, Section 8-81 through 8-90 of the Columbus Code specifies the procedure
and requirements for removal of buildings unsafe or unfit for human habitation;
WHEREAS, these provisions and requirements have been and are fully complied
with on the property listed below;
WHEREAS, administrative implementation instructions pertaining to this
Ordinance are on file in the Accounting Division, the Inspections and Code
Division, and the City Manager's Office;
WHEREAS, Bill Reaves of Reaves Wrecking Co., Inc. is the contractor for the
demolition of all fourteen structures located at: 4828 Old Cusseta Road (Leroy
W. & Aldpohus Battle Sr., owners) in the amount of $9,831.00; 2610 Clover Lane
(George D. Boykins, owner) in the amount of $3,683.60; 3150 Plateau Drive, Lt.
441 (Buck Sport Aircraft, owner) in the amount of $2,305.00; 718 6th Avenue
(Church of God, owner) in the amount of $6,014.80; 3637 ? Buena Vista Road
(Johnny E. Davis, owner) in the amount of $12,609.60; 1214 Baker Circle (Wilson
T. Harrison, owner) in the amount of $3,113.60; 2415 ? Schaul Street (C. A.
Hopkins, owner) in the amount of $4,763.60; 401 Brennan Road, Lt. 33 (King
Gerald Leonard, owner) in the amount of $2,181.25; 925 Benning Drive (Marie v.
Petit, Estate) in the amount of $4,948.70; 2605 Walker Street (Jacqueline M.
Ryan, owner) in the amount of $3,887.50; 3466 Marathon Drive, Lt. 55 (Ivey &
Dorothy Summerlin, owners) in the amount of $2,305.00; 2714 14th Avenue (Nellie
H. Thompson, et al., owners) in the amount of $6,938.20; 2608 14th Avenue
(Dorothy C. Walker, owner) in the amount of $4,919.20; and 606 Radcliff Avenue
(Pearlie Wilson, owner) in the amount of $3,333.20;
WHEREAS, funds are budgeted in the FY05 Budget, Community Development Block
Grant-Neighborhood Redevelopment-Site Improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
After adoption and approval of this Ordinance and compliance with such required
procedures, including the notices and hearing set forth, the demolition of the
structures listed above, in accordance with Sections 8-81 through 8-90 of the
Columbus Code is hereby authorized.
SECTION 2.
After validation by signature of duly appointed officials, the City's Chief
Accountant shall cause the assessments to be entered in the Demolition Lien
Book located in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court.
SECTION 3.
A copy of this Ordinance shall be mailed to each property owner immediately
after entry with a noted date, page, and line number of the Demolition Lien
Book.
