The Columbus City Council has requested that the Unified Development

Ordinance be amended so as to allow certain temporary signs on public

right-of-way in an enterprise zone or redevelopment area upon approval of the

City Manager for a period not to exceed twelve months. (47-A-05-Planning

Division) (Councilor McDaniel) (The Planning Advisory Commission and the

Planning Division recommend approval.)



(2) 2ND READING ?



Rezoning property located at 2009 Lockwood Avenue is proposed for rezoning from

RMF2 (Residential Multi-Family 2) District to RMF1 (Residential Multi-Family 1)

District. (48-A-05-Barnes & Company) (Councilor McDaniel) (The Planning

Advisory Commission and the Planning Division recommend approval.)

1. Service Contract for Fire Extinguisher (Annual Contract) ? RFB No. 06-0023

Scope of Bid

Provide services for recharging, repairing and testing approximately

1,061 fire extinguishers at various locations and departments of the Columbus

Consolidated Government (the City). The contract period will be for two (2)

years with the option to renew for three (3) additional twelve-month periods,

if agreeable to both parties.



2. Welding/Metal Fabricating Services (Annual Contract) ? RFB No. 06-0025

Scope of Bid

Provide welding and fabrication services on an ?as needed? basis for

various facilities and equipment owned by the City. The term of the contract

period shall be for two (2) years, with the option to renew for three (3)

additional twelve-month periods, if agreeable to both parties.



3. Van, Commercial Cutaway ? RFB No. 06-0016

Scope of RFB

Provide four (4) commercial cutaway vans to be used by the Paving & Repairs and

Right-of-Way Maintenance Divisions of the Public Services Department.



4. Portable Air Compressor ? RFB No. 06-0019

Scope of RFB

Provide one (1) portable air compressor to be used by the Rainwater Management

Division of the Public Services Department.

1. Osceola Court-Muscogee County Technology Park ? RFB No. 06-0022

Scope of Bid

The work shall consist of the construction of Osceola Court in the Muscogee

Technology Park, in accordance with the designated plans and specifications.

The Contractor shall be required to maintain public access to all residences

and businesses located within the project area.



2. 30?/35? Ft. Low Floor Clean Diesel Transit Buses (Annual Contract) ? RFB No.

06-0027

Scope of Bid

The Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia (the City) is seeking

vendors to provide 30?/35? Low Floor Clean Diesel Transit Buses to METRA on an

?as needed? basis. The City anticipates purchasing approximately 12 buses over

a four (4) year period.
