The term of office of Dr. James Lawrence on the Board of Health expired on

December 31, 2004. Dr. Lawrence is eligible to succeed himself for one

additional four-year term of office.



All five board members who currently serve on this board reside in

Senatorial District 29. There is currently one (1) woman serving on this board.



Enclosed is a copy of our data sheet, as well as a list of the current

members.

COMPOSITION OF BOARD: Seven members, one of whom shall be the Mayor of

Columbus, one of which shall be the City Manager of Columbus and two of which

shall be licensed and practicing physicians. (Ga. L. 1941, Pg. 937)



QUALIFICATIONS OF MEMBERS: Must be residents of Columbus. See also, Sec.

2-3.02 (a) Col. Code for general qualifications of all boards.

Charge/Mission: This board is responsible for the operation of the Columbus

Department of Public Health. It has seven (7) members, two (2) of which must be

licensed and practicing physicians and three other citizens members, all of

which are appointed by the Columbus Council. The Mayor and the City Manager
