The terms of office of Dr. Emma Hunter, Mr. Seth Harp, and Mr. Thomas Gurr

on the Hospital Authority will expire on November 14, 2005. Dr. Hunter and Mr.

Harp are not eligible to succeed themselves, as they will have served two full

terms of office when their current term expires. Mr. Gurr is eligible to

succeed himself.



The Council nominates three individuals for each vacancy and the

Authority itself will then select its members from the list of nominees.



There are currently seven (7) members who reside in Senatorial District 29

and two (2) members who reside in Senatorial District 15 representatives.



There are four (4) women currently serving on this board.



Enclosed is a copy of our data sheet, as well as a list of the current

members.

CREATED BY: County Commissioner?s resolution of November 14, 1967 declaring a

need for the authority and appointing its original members. (Pursuant to the

provisions of the Georgia Hospital Authorities Law, O. C.C.G.A., Section

31-7-72).

COMPOSITION OF BOARD: Board has eleven members. (O.C.G.A., Sec 31-7-72 (a).

The authority has had nine members, in the past, for several years.



QUALIFICATIONS OF MEMBERS: Shall be residents and qualified registered voter

of Columbus, Georgia (Col. Code, Sec. 2-3.02)



MEMBERS APPOINTED BY: For each vacancy, the Columbus Council submits a list of

three eligible persons to the Hospital Authority of Columbus. From this list,

the Authority selects one of the individuals to fill the vacancy (O.C.G.A.,

Sec. 31-7-72 (b) (1) through (3)



TERMS OF OFFICE: Staggered terms as specified by resolution of the Columbus

Council. For the past several years, members have been appointed to three-year
