MINUTES # 38-03



The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Wednesday, September 24,

2003, at 2:00PM with Chairman Lawton Grantham, Assessors Richard Stallings, Ann

Grantham, William Braxton and Pat Hunter present. Also present was Chief

Appraiser Martin J. Land.



Assessor Ann Grantham made a motion to approve Minutes #37-03, Assessor William

Braxton second the motion, motion carried unanimously.



The Board also approved assessment corrections for real estate.



Met with Pastor Courtney representing Bethel Tabernacle Assembly of God, Inc.

regarding a request for non-taxability for property located at 928 55th Street

(Parcel ID 188 016 006A). Pastor Courtney said they are using the property for

parking. He said the person they bought the property from lives in the house

and pays no rent. He said he has permission to live there until his death or

until he has to move into a nursing home. He said the church members have been

parking on the property since the church purchased the property in July 2002.

The Board approved tax exempt status for 2003.



Chief Appraiser Martin Land presented residential appeals, which were reviewed

and approved as follows:
