BUILDING CONTRACTORS EXAMINING BOARD

CALLED MEETING - 11:00 A. M. ? JULY 22, 2003





A special called meeting of the Building Contractors' Examining Board

was held Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at 11:00 A. M., in the office of the Building

Official. Members present were:



Mr. Johnny Cargill Mr. Tommy Hinton

Mr. Allen Wright Mr. William L. Duck, Jr.



Also attending this meeting were Jaimie DeLoach, Assistant City Attorney, and

Recording Secretary Anne Thomas.



The purpose of this meeting was for Ms. DeLoach to advise the Board Members

about procedures for the hearing which is to be held concerning the complaints

by Mr. Esau Hunter against John Kittrell, d/b/a J. K. Builders & Associates.

This hearing will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, July 23, 2003, 2:30 P.M., in the

First Floor Conference Room of the Government Center Annex, located at 420

Tenth Street.



Ms. DeLoach gave the Chairman, Allen Wright, an outline of opening remarks for

the hearing. She explained that this meeting would be very informal; the

Board Members are free to ask anything of the complainant and of Mr. Kittrell

without objections from the opposing side. If there are very many persons in

attendance who wish to speak for or against Mr. Kittrell, each one should be

limited to five or ten minutes each for his/her remarks.



The Board Members were given a list of permits that have been issued to Mr.

Kittrell that have not been completed. It was decided that the Board Members

would contact these owners who have outstanding contracts with Mr. Kittrell,

and inquire of them as to how much of the work has been completed, the quality

of the work being done, and whether or not they are satisfied with Mr.

Kittrell?s work.



Ms. DeLoach stated that she would also call the five people who complained to

the Board in 1997, and ask them if they would like to attend this hearing.



There being no further business to come before the Board, the

meeting adjourned at 12:10 P. M.
