A RESOLUTION



NO.



WHEREAS, the Safe Kids of Georgia, Columbus Coalition, a program for which the

Columbus Department of Public Health is the lead agency, has recently

celebrated National Safe Kids Week in Columbus;



WHEREAS, the Columbus Coalition of Safe Kids of Georgia also conducted a Poster

Contest where local school students created drawings reflecting the goals of

Safe Kids of Georgia;



WHEREAS, Safe Kids of Georgia seeks to prevent unintentional injuries and

deaths in children under the age of 15 and focuses upon child passenger safety,

bike safety, water safety, fire safety and home safety;



WHEREAS, Paolo Joseph Gilleran, 4th Grade, Midland Academy won 1st Place,

Niki Rivers , 3rd Grade, Hannan Elementary Magnet won 2nd Place and Jessie

Barron, 4th Grade, Midland Academy won 3rd Place in the Columbus Coalition of

Safe Kids Poster Contest;



WHEREAS, the hard work of these students is worthy of special by this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate Paolo Joseph Gilleran, Niki Rivers , and

Jessie Barron upon their winning submissions in the Safe Kids of Georgia Poster

Contest. Columbus is proud of their efforts and we wish them every success in

the future. Let a copy of the resolution be forwarded to Ms. Pamela Fair and

the above-named recipients.

13th day of May, 2003, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
