An Ordinance amending the Zoning Atlas of the Consolidated Government
of Columbus, Georgia; this amendment changes certain boundaries of a district
located at 300 Jackson Avenue, from M-1 (Light Manufacturing) District to M-2
(Heavy Manufacturing) District.
THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS:
That the Zoning Atlas on file with the Planning Division of the
Department of Community and Economic Development be, and the same is hereby
amended by changing the following described property from M-1 (Light
Manufacturing) District to M-2 (Heavy Manufacturing) District:
All that lot, tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the State of
Georgia and County of Muscogee and being known and designated as REPLAT OF
PROPERTY OF MORTON MACHINE WORKS, PART OF JAMES W. BLANCHARD INDUSTRIAL PARK,
LYING IN COWETA RESERVE, COLUMBUS, MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GEORGIA as shown upon a map
or plat of said Subdivision dated May 21, 1996, made by Moon, Meeks, Mason and
Vinson, Civil Engineers, and recorded in Plat Book 131, Folio 28, in the Office
of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia, to which
reference is made for the particular location and dimensions of said lot.
The above-described property is being rezoned with the following conditions:
1. All lighting shall be directed internally using deflectors.
2. No access shall be allowed onto Victory Drive.
3. If the property is not used for metal smelting / metal ore processing, then
the property shall revert back to an M-1 zoning district.
