A RESOLUTION
No.
WHEREAS, the Brookstone Lady Cougars softball team recently won their first
Class A Georgia State Championship crown;
WHEREAS, Brookstone beat Bremen 1-0 to win the championship game and also
defeated teams from Bowdon and Lanier County to reach the finals;
WHEREAS, the 2003 season marked the first Region/Area Championship since 1996
for the Lady Cougars and the team finished with a school record of 28-8;
WHEREAS, this team's accomplishments are worthy of special recognition by this
Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We commend and congratulate the following Brookstone School Lady Cougars
softball players upon their victory in the 2003 Class A State Championship
Tournament: Mary Katharine Carter, Eleanor Flowers, Kathy Gordon, Laura Rumer,
Rudi Cumiskey, Laura Schorr, Grace Flowers, Angela Stone, Ann Norman, Kimberly
Hobbs, Jay Johnson and Slade Stillwell, and Coaches Ken Paulk and Lee Schorr.
Columbus is justly proud of this team?s hard work and dedication and we wish
them every success in the future. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
the above-named participants.

the 18th day of November, 2003, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative
