A RESOLUTION
No.
WHEREAS, the Columbus Scottish Rite Bodies of Freemasonry sponsored Flag Day
2003 at Shaw High School on June 13, 2003;
WHEREAS, the program honored our Nation's flags and the patriots who founded
and served the United States of America;
WHEREAS, Lt. Col. (Ret.) James E. Miller chaired the program and Mr. P. Norman
Blankenbeckler served as Director;
WHEREAS, the Flag Day program presented sixteen historic flags including the
Bedford Flag carried by the Minutemen who faced the British at Concord on April
19, 1775, the Sons of Liberty Flag, the Bunker Hill Flag, the Betsy Ross Flag,
the Star Spangled Banner Flag and the Union Flag of 1859;
WHEREAS, representatives from local public safety agencies, Masonic
organizations, patriotic and historical societies and students escorted the
flags in separate color guards.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend the Columbus Scottish Rite Bodies of Freemasonry, Lt. Col.
(Ret.) James E. Miller and Mr. P. Norman Blankenbeckler for their leadership in
presenting the Flag Day 2003 program at Shaw High School. Let a copy of this
resolution be forwarded to Lt. Col. James E. Miller and Mr. P. Norman
Blankenbeckler.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the
15th day of July, 2003, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
