MINUTES # 29-05



The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at

2:00PM with Assessors Richard Stallings, Ann Grantham, William Braxton and Pat

Hunter present. Also present was Chief Appraiser Martin J. Land. Chairman

Lawton Grantham was absent.



Assessor Ann Grantham made a motion to approve Minutes # 28-05, Assessor

Richard Stallings seconded the motion, motion carried unanimously.



Met with Mr. Daugherty regarding his personal property account # B0831201. Mr.

Daugherty requested the Board of Tax Assessors to remove the assessment for the

years 1999 through 2005.He said he did not file a registration for the boat in

Alabama until 2001, because the current registration was still active. He said

he moved to Montgomery, Alabama in 1998 and took his boat with him. He said he

did not receive any correspondence regarding his boat; his ex-wife might have

received it. Assessor William Braxton made a motion to remove the assessment

for the years 2001 through 2005, since the boat was registered in Alabama;

Assessor Ann Grantham seconded it. The motion carried unanimously by those

members present. The Board took no action for the years 1999 and 2000.
