The Board of Elections and Voter Registration called for a special meeting to
review the provisional ballots that were received for the General Primary
Election that was held on July 20, 2004. Mr. Wright called the meeting to
order.
Mr. Glenn Wallace presented to the board members 3 provisional ballots that
were voted. Mr. Wallace recommended rejecting 2 of the ballots because the
voters were not found on the voters list and did not fill out an application to
get registered.
It was recommended that 1 provisional ballot be accepted because the voter was
a registered voter. Based upon Mr. Wallace?s recommendation, the board voted
to accept the one provisional ballot and reject the other two. The voters will
be notified of the board?s decision and will be sent a voter registration
application so that they can be registered for the November 2nd election.
The board discussed the number of machines that will be sent to each precinct
and the number of workers the precinct manager should employ for the upcoming
run-off election to be held August 10, 2004.
Nancy told the board that a state wide recount may be called for by the
Secretary of State?s Office.
Being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
